Dr.R. K. Singh, born on 11th June, 1969, is a Professor and worked as Vice Chancellor, Patliputra University, Patna, Bihar, a state university of Bihar. Having throughout first division career, he obtained his Ph.D. from Allahabad University and M. E. from BITS, Pilani. He is recipient of numerous awards and honours. He is engaged in teaching, research, administration and consultancy for the last 28 years. Apart from this, he has worked as Director, B.T. Dr. Singh started his esteemed career as teaching assistant at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani (one and half years, Oct. 4, 1990 - July 1993) and as RA & Scientist(P) at CEERI, Pilani (more than one and half years, July 1993 – March 20, 1995), as an Assistant Professor March 21, 1995 – July 30, 1998) at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT), Dwarahat, formerly known as Kumaon Engineering College (KEC), Dwarahat, Almora (more than 3 years) and Associate Professor July 31, 1998 – July 30, 2006) at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat (8 years). He became professor (July 31, 2006 – till date) at the age of 37 years, at BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat. He held the positions of HOD ECE, Principal, BT Kumaon Institute of Technology, Dwarahat, Officer on Special Duty, Registrar and Controller of Examination, at Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun.
Prof. Singh has received felicitations and awards by professional bodies such as Rastriya Samman Purskar- presented by Indian Society for Intellectual Development in presence of His Excellency, ShriSatya Narayan Reddy, Ex. Governor, U.P. and His Excellency, Shri Bhism Narayan Singh, Ex. Governor, Bihar, Jewel of India award- presented by International Institute of Education and Management in presence of His Excellency, Shri Bhism Narayan Singh, Ex. Governor, Bihar and Hon. Minister, Health, Govt. of Delhi, Shri Yoga Nand, Rastriya Ekta Award- presented by Global Economic Council, New Delhi, in presence of His Excellency, Shri Madan Lal Khurana, Governor, Rajasthan on 28th April, 2004 and Arch of Excellence Award-2004- presented in National Seminar- All India Achievers Conference in presence of His Excellency, Shri Satya Narayan Reddy, Ex. Governor, and U.P. He is member of institution of Engineers (India). He has worked as Programme Officer of National Service Scheme at BTKIT, Dwarahat.
Prof. Singh has held positions of responsibility such as - Member, various committees of UTU University and Govt. of Uttarakhand, First Appellate Authority, BTKIT, Dwarahat (for Right 2 to Information Act, 2005); Dealing World Bank assisted Technical Education Quality Improvement Program for BTKIT; Expert Member, of various committees of several Institutions and organizations of national and international repute. Prof. Singh has guided 22 Ph.Ds. and about 15 M.Tech.thesis. He has participated in various National and International conferences, and published more than 120 research papers in national and international journals of repute. He has also authored eight books. Besides these, he has undertaken numerous consultancies for state government and various PSUs. He has provided technical assistance as member to groups of expert set up for various tasks.
Prof. Singh is member of the various prestigious bodies like Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata, IEEE, etc.
Prof. Singh has visited various International countries as key note speaker and session chair-man. Some of visited countries are Peris France, Hong Kong, Zurich, Switzerland, Kuala lumpur, Malaysia and Bangkok, Thailand where he Delivered Key note speech and chaired the session of International Conference.
