Dr. Gábor Kovács is a lecturer at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania, Faculty of Technical and Human Sciences, Department of Horticulture in Târgu Mure?, Romania. He has been in this role since 2021. Kovács obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry/Applied Electrochemistry from Babe?-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2007 and 2008, respectively. He later earned his PhD in Chemistry from Babe?-Bolyai University in 2012. Prior to his current lecturing position, Kovács had several research roles. He was an (assistant) Researcher at the Babe?-Bolyai University Faculty of Physics / Institute of Interdisciplinary Bio-Nano Sciences in Cluj-Napoca. Kovács also held postdoctoral research positions, including at the Department of Applied and Environmental Chemistry, University of Szeged in Hungary, and the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, University of Szeged in Hungary. Kovács has taught a variety of chemistry-related courses at B.Sc. and M.Sc. level, including General Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Corrosion and Anticorrosive Protection, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry and Phytosanitary Chemistry and Toxicology. Kovács has led several research projects funded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Research, Development and Innovation Office of Hungary. These projects have focused on areas such as synthesis, characterization and applicability of photocatalytic nanostructures, carbon nanotube-based composites, and the development of noble metal-TiO2 based photoactive catalysts.
